October 12th 7-9 pm Japanese Stab Journal: Want a change of pace and something new? Esther Bechler will guide you through the process of making a Japanese Stab Book that makes an excellent journal for yourself or someone special. $25 includes basic materials.

November 16th 7-9 pm Holiday Star Book: Esther Bechler shows you how to create a unique book that opens to form a beautiful star. Use it to create a mini scrapbook of the holidays for yourself or as a gift. $25 includes basic materials.

December 7th 7-9 pm Triangle Book: Need a unique gift idea? Esther Bechler will show you how to create a little book that is really 6 books in one. Have fun creating a book with hidden spaces awaiting discovery. $20 includes basic materials.

September 14th and 21st 1-3 pm (Monday afternoon) Beaded Knit Pendant Bag: Learn to knit with beads and make a beautiful little pendant bag. These bags make great gifts! Taught by Monica MacFarland. Call the shop to check space available and pricing.

September 11th 10 am to noon (Friday morning) Swirl Scarf: Learn to knit this beautiful scarf with Deb K. (Our resident Knit Doctor) Call the shop to check space available and pricing.

October 6th 10am to noon OR 7-9 pm Swirl Hat: Knit a unique swirl hat with designer/instructor Ellie Gaines. $10 includes pattern. Supplies list available at the shop.

Learn to knit a stocking that will be fulled (aka felted in the washing machine) and then embellished with needle felting.

November 2nd 7-9 pm (Monday Night) Felted Stocking Part I: Knit your stocking with help from our own Knitting Doctor, Deb K. Materials list will be available at Fiberworks.

November 9th 7-9 pm (Monday Night) Felted Stocking Part II: Add your needle felted embellishment to the stocking you knit last week. Felting instructor Esther Bechler will be on hand for support, inspiration, and instruction.

September 10th 7-9 pm Needle Felted Mini-Purse: Create a small bag that is just right for a cell phone, PDA, glasses case or coin purse. $25 includes basic materials.

September 17th No Class: Fiberworks will close early on Sept. 17th to prepare for Wool Gathering at Young's Dairy on Sept. 19th and 20th. Please stop by and say hi if you're there.

September 24th 7-9 pm Trick or Treat Bag: Felt a spooky ghost or other fall pattern on a pre-made cloth bag. Perfect for Trick or Treat or as a book bag! $25 includes basic materials.

October 1st 7-9 pm Pumpkins: Here's the perfect jack-o-lantern! Won't get your hands messy and won't rot! You can even throw it and it won't break! $25 includes basic materials.

October 8th 7-9pm Witches: Needle felt an old crone to wear as a pin! $20 includes basic materials.

October 15th 7-9 pm Nuno Felting: Learn the art of nuno felting! Make a beautiful scarf with silk and wool. Note: Nuno felting is a wet felting technique that laminates fine fibers to a loosely woven fabric. The result is a strong yet delicate looking and feminine scarf. $30 includes basic materials.

October 22nd 7-9 pm Goblins, Witches and Ghosts: Learn how to needlefelt a stump doll and turn it into something that goes bump in the night! $25 includes basic materials.

October 29th 7-9 pm Cats! Cats! Cats! These cats are guaranteed not to scratch the furniture or play with your yarn! Note: If you want to felt a special cat, please be sure to bring pictures with you for reference. $ 20 includes basic materials.

November 5th 7-9 pm Felted Cards: Looking for something different to send this year? Why not needle felt your holiday cards? $20 Includes basic materials.

November 12th 7-9pm Christmas Ornaments: Needle felt a special holiday ornament for your tree! These ornaments are great for homes with small children! They won't break! They are also a great way to showcase a child's drawing. Note: if you want to incorporate a child's drawing into your ornament, please bring the drawing with you to class! $25 includes basic materials.

November 19th 7-9 pm Santa Pin! Make the jolly old elf himself to wear as a pin, to embellish a special gift or to give as a gift itself. $25 includes basic materials.

November 26th Thanksgiving! Fiberworks will be closed so that we may celebrate the holiday with our family and friends.

November 27th 1-3 pm The 4th Annual Multi-Generational Day After Thanksgiving Felting Class (try saying that 5 times really fast!) Spend a special afternoon with someone you love! Felting project TBA! $25 covers materials and instruction for 2 people.

December 3rd 7-9 pm Mini Triangle Santa: This cute little uy makes a great pin or ornament! $25 includes basic materials.

December 12th 7-9 pm Primitive Santa: Last chance this year to create your own primitive santa! This santa is based on the carved wooden santas and stands approx. 10 inches tall. $25 includes basic materials.

December 17th 7-9 pm Holiday Bear: Who doesn't need a little bear to help them through the holiday craziness? Come, relax, and get rid of your tensions with a felting needle! $20 includes basic materials.

North on I-75 to I-675 to Rt. 35 East (Exit 13A toward Xenia). Take the N. Fairfield Rd. exit and turn right (north, toward the mall). Just past the intersection with Dayton-Xenia Rd. there will be a Sunoco station on the right. Turn right at the driveway just after the Sunoco station to enter the parking lot in front of FIBERWORKS. If you get to Valvoline or Beaver Square, you've gone just a bit too far.

Hand Puppet Class

Coming May 15th and 20th- The Return of the Needle Felted handpuppet class.

In the interest of accomodating those who have difficulty attending classes in the evenings, the class on Wednesday the 15th will be held at 2pm. The Monday evening class on the 20th will be held at 6:30pm. Sign up with Arlene at the shop. A new sample puppet will be arriving at Fiberworks in the very near future.

We love puppet classes. It's always so much fun to see sweater sleeves transformed into whimsical creatures with unique personalities. Whether you're interested in making a puppet for the children in your life or for the child in you, these recycled wool puppets have a lot of character and personality. Join instructor Andi Fasimpaur at Fiberworks for a workshop to teach you how to turn the sleeve of a recycled wool sweater into a whimsical puppet. After stitching the muzzle shut and attaching the ears, you will needle felt eyes and a nose to add the finishing touch to your puppet.

This class is a great introduction to 3 dimensional needle felting for the beginner and a fun application of the skills you already have for the more advanced fiber artist. Special attention will be given to carding as a way of blending colored rovings to achieve pleasing color matches.

$30 course fee covers basic materials. Additional supplies will be available at the shop. Additional felted sleeves may be purchased from the instructor for $5 each. All other supplies are available through the shop.

Participants are asked to bring a pair of scissors to reduce the chances of delays.

Silk Magic Scarf Class

Fee: $20 (includes materials)

Bring your knitting needles and settle in for a fun and informative visit with Arlene. Discover what's in a cocoon and how you can transform it into a beautiful, one-of-a-kind silk scarf. Experience the unique satisfaction of making your own yarn and then showcasing it in a a handmade work of art.

Additional scarf kits in a variety of beautiful colors are available for $15 at the shop.

Be sure to ask about new, larger scarf kits for either crochet or for knitters who would like a bulkier, wider, or longer scarf.
